Steam validating game files stuck

What happens is that it checks the games has all the proper files (sometimes if you want to mess with maps and stuff might accidentally delete some stuff so it adds all the right files!

) This happened when I was trying to make Portal 2 and Stanley pabs together and I deleted some files accidentally.

Steam support suggested it once and it got me out of a problem I had, so I try it again on occasion.

It appears to compare checksums of your local files with the cloud and will re-download any invalid files again.

It downloads everything because there is no existing manifest/files present in your computer.

Every game present on Steam is broken down into chunks of around 1MB in size.

For each game available, there is a manifest available which tells how to assemble these chunks into the game files.

If its different in any way it replaces or adds on any files.

If I ever have a problem with a game on steam this always the first thing i do.
